So it's real cute that you thought to check and see what the next chapter might look like, but I haven't written it yet!
No, sorry, I don't mean to be too sassy about it; I did put this page together to hold space for when the chapter is ready to go. That said, however, while I have a chapter planned out to take up the space of this page later, it's currently not ready to be shown publicly.
Because it's not written.
I will share some notes on what I'm sorting out for the chapter, I guess...
Cyril-centric chapter. Will figure this one out later.
From the schedule blurb: “Might share thematically with chapter 4, in that it’s more of a departure from actual Nerd Squad activities to discuss them through Cyril and Kevin’s lenses. Should start to build toward the closing of this Bill arc in the next (likely last) chapter. As well, this chapter likely pulls double-duty in covering Cyril AND Kevin’s colour traits, so where Cyril would be “Magic/Art” and “Sloth”, Kevin would cover “Serenity/Spirit” and “Pride”. (currently, I think Kevin better fits “Art” as a cosplayer, but like... Cyril should have something to reference that as well.)”
Super-easy way to compensate for that last detail and give these two a bit of chemistry factor previously unseen: they’re working on a cosplay project together, and Cyril’s sewing is instrumental in that. Kevin is experienced with it, but Cyril had been super interested in it to put together his own clothes – regardless of his actual taste and aesthetics. As a result, we take at least a second or so looking into that project to get more on the two of them outside of their sex life.
We could put it in that Cyril has kind of procrastinated on the project a bit to hint at the Sloth keyword, but also just have it that he’s always sleeping in. Truthfully, if I’m hinting at him wanting to learn a skill, I don’t want to lean too heavily on the sloth keyword of it, because that feels weird...
As for Kevin, I don’t think I know how to cover the serenity or spirit keywords...? Part of the bit is that – though most of them are hardly unhinged – Kevin is the most down-to-earth of the whole squad. While he definitely shows a good touch of vanity over a body he’s worked hard to sculpt and maintain, I don’t know how to wiggle in serenity or spirit as a keyword to match that? Perhaps, though, since serenity is mostly just a calm state of mind, that’s all I need to show: especially as a teacher, Kevin is patient and acts as an encouraging and level-headed guide, someone that Cyril may even see something he wants to emulate in himself. And what Kevin sees in that is someone who shows genuine interest in him and what he does, and that feeds into his attention-seeking in a way that’s more satisfying than the usual body worship he enjoys.
Perhaps worth noting on that is Kevin still enjoys the physical attention, even if the personal attention is more gratifying overall. Not gonna oppose either side of that equation.
